Job Overview:
We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team, full time. Your main responsibility will be keeping the kitchen clean and organised by washing pots, pans, and utensils, and ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained. You’ll play an important role in supporting the chefs and helping the Garden Kitchen run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping ingredients).
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Ensure all food is stored and handled according to health and safety regulations.
Wash dishes and operate the dishwashing machine.
Replenish stock and rotate supplies, checking for freshness and expiry dates.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
Dispose of waste properly and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
Follow all food hygiene, health & safety protocols
Support with occasional front-of-house duties during busy periods if required.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment (preferred but not essential).
Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Friendly and reliable, with a positive attitude.
Flexibility to work weekends and peak seasonal periods.
Desirable Qualifications:
Level 1 or 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
First Aid certification (advantageous).
