Job Title: Housekeeper

Location: Pugh's Garden Kitchen, Abergavenny, NP7 5HE

Hours: 2 x 16 hours a week contracts, permanent (opportunity for additional hours as and when requested )

Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour. Paid monthly salary
To start: Mid-January

Previous cleaning experience is desired.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of our store and restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and a proactive attitude in supporting a welcoming and tidy environment for our customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitise customer areas, including hospitality, retail, public and staff restrooms, staff rooms, offices
Sweep, mop, and maintain indoor flooring and outdoor pathways
Collect and dispose of litter and organic debris from across the premises.
Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies in staff and customer facilities.
Clean glass doors, windows, and display units.
Assist in setting up and tidying areas before and after events or peak trading periods.
Safely use cleaning tools and chemicals in accordance with health and safety standards.
Identify and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Working Conditions:

Work Environment: Combination of indoor environments including retail and hospitality spaces and public restrooms (outdoor hospitality area to come in the future)

Physical Demands: Standing and walking for long periods, lifting to 30 lbs, bending, reaching, and using cleaning equipment.

Chemical Use: Routine handling of cleaning agents and disinfectants (with appropriate PPE provided).

Schedule: Includes weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Early morning or evening shifts may be required depending on business needs.

Risk Factors: Slips, trips and falls, narrow stairs, exposure to cleaning products, kitchen equipment (filters and extraction etc)

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Good physical stamina and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of cleaning products and safety procedures.
Friendly and professional attitude toward staff and customers.
