Position Overview
As the Regional Visual Merchandiser and Buyer, you will play a dual strategic and creative role in driving the commercial success of our stores within the non-food category. You will oversee visual merchandising execution across multiple locations and manage the buying of non-food merchandise, ensuring alignment with The Garden Kitchen’s brand values, target demographic and aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising (VM):
Plan, design, and implement compelling in-store displays and seasonal visual strategies across all regional locations.
Ensure consistency of brand presentation while allowing for local adaptation.
Conduct regular store visits to audit visual standards and coach local teams.
Collaborate with store managers and marketing to align visual storytelling with promotions and campaigns.
Train and support store staff on merchandising best practices.
Buying & Merchandising:
Curate and source product ranges for home, lifestyle, indoor plants, and giftware that reflect the brand ethos.
Negotiate with vendors, manage supplier relationships, and attend trade shows.
Monitor sales performance and inventory levels; make data-informed decisions on reorders or markdowns.
Forecast trends and identify opportunities to introduce new, exciting products.
Work with logistics and inventory teams to ensure smooth distribution and stock flow across the group.
Qualifications & Experience
3–5 years experience in a similar visual merchandising and/or buying role, ideally in lifestyle, home, or food-retail environments.
Strong aesthetic sense and eye for design, colour, and layout.
Proficient in trend forecasting and retail analytics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Excel, POS systems, planogram tools).
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally.
